Root canal treatment is the branch of dentistry aimed at saving teeth rather than extracting it. When bacteria and /or its toxins reaches tooth pulp ( due to decay, untreated broken tooth or filling, cracked tooth or sometimes after Trauma) severe pain will start, if untreated, tooth pulp will get infected and die .

Infection within the tooth will cause sever pain and spread into jaw bone leading to swelling (abscess), fever and pain, or discharge through the gum as pus .

Root canal treatment however can save the tooth from being extracted by cleaning and removing all dead tissue, bacteria and infection, preparing the canals for filling before final restoration.
